The release in 2020, marks eight years since the passing of my aunt Agnes in Italy in 2012. A rhapsody of life and death, its two symphonic verses comes full circle, alluding to her presence at my birth and my presence at her final laying to rest. The two choruses ‘sought’ and ‘hide’, a contrary nod to the inherent balance of nature, and of the song’s own two-part structure. It’s especially powerful for me as it’s actually the first song I shared with the world, following a print feature in Another Man magazine (link), who premiered the video in Nov 2014. It’s been newly mixed and mastered for digital release following encouragement and prompting of some kind supporters on YouTube.

It’s been such a pleasure to revisit this song during the remixing and mastering process to prepare it for streaming, together with an updated HD video from director Sam Williams. I’m very grateful to Ashley Krajewski for mixing it from scratch, Brian Sanhaji at Calyx for the awesome mastering job, and Christoph Skirl for his wildly attentive ears and counsel.
