Jordan Hunt is a composer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and host of the podcast Deep Down with Jordan Hunt.
Classically trained, he creates deeply emotional, introspective music that blends orchestral colours and piano landscapes with electronic terrain and enigmatic strings. His songs combine thoughtful lyricism with vulnerable vocals, exploring themes of love, loss and transformation.
His 2025 single Between Worlds—commissioned by English National Ballet Youth Company and inspired by Akram Khan’s Giselle—was praised by Alex Baker on Kerrang! Radio as “mesmerising,” with “a beautiful, haunting quality.” He was featured as Artist of the Week on Fresh Blood, affirming Hunt’s ability to bridge classical texture with electronic pulse. PopTopic.au described him as “one of the best artists we’ve ever stumbled across,” with “extremely well-produced music… better than most top-tier artists on Spotify.”
Hunt’s instrumental catalogue is expansive: To the Ocean Floor (2017) and The Three Visions for solo violin (2020) established him as a composer with a rare voice, followed by numerous singles and commissions. His forthcoming album Music for Dance Unseen (2026, Principle Six) builds on this trajectory—eight wordless compositions for string quartet and piano recorded at Echo Zoo Studios, offering a transformational journey from solitude to catharsis.
Across his career, Hunt has balanced orchestral composition with art-pop performance. He has been commissioned and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Philharmonia and London Sinfonietta, conducted by Oliver Knussen and James MacMillan, and released on NMC. As a performer, he has toured extensively across Europe, Asia and North America with Grammy-nominated Olivia Chaney, The Irrepressibles, and The Hidden Cameras, supporting Robert Plant, The Decemberists, Baby Dee, Little Annie and Ed Askew.
His collaborative reach extends across pop, fashion and film. He has worked with artists including Lana Del Rey, FKA twigs, Kylie Minogue, Dua Lipa, Olly Alexander, Paloma Faith, Fiona Shaw, Nick Knight, David Sims and Raqib Shaw. His music has been featured in campaigns for Alexander McQueen, Dior, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Halpern, Charles Jeffrey Loverboy and W Magazine. He composed the score for Theo Adams Company’s short film Safety Curtain, which debuted on Channel 4, and served as associate director on FKA twigs’ international tour.
In 2024, Hunt launched Deep Down, a podcast of creative conversations exploring vulnerability, artistry and the inner lives of musicians. He is co-founder of the Principle Six label and Musical/Associate Director of the Theo Adams Company.
His discography has received airplay on BBC Radio 3, BBC 6 Music, Kerrang! and Soho Radio, with recognition across classical and popular contexts. Acne Studios described his work as “an unconventional approach to a typically conservative genre… mixing incongruous elements into surprising harmonies.” With each project, Jordan Hunt continues to carve a singular path, offering music that is at once cinematic, intimate and transformative.
