Late Night Blue is a song about the loneliness of looking for love in the wrong places.

Written in the aftermath of grief of losing a partner far too young, and the darker years that followed, the track turns the language of late-night searching, dating apps, desire and depression into something icy, restless and exposed. What first appears to be a song about looking for a lover gradually reveals itself as something more fragile: the search for connection, attention, sex, peace, distraction, and a way out of one’s own mind.

Its sound world is crisp, blue-lit and uneasy — piano-led, nocturnal, and labyrinthine, like trying to find a way out of a room where the screen is the only light.

On Long Last, Late Night Blue marks the point where the shared darkness of James becomes solitary. It is the sound of facing the night alone.

Fall is the second single from Long Last, a four-song EP about relationships that linger long after they end.

Written in 2009, Fall began as the gentlest breakup Jordan Hunt could imagine: a fantasy of letting go before he had the courage to leave. Years later, its imagery of falling and flight took on a painful second meaning after the sudden death of the partner who inspired it.

Organ, piano, strings and layered voices hold the song in a luminous, suspended world - a bittersweet song whose meaning changed completely with time.

James is the first single from Long Last, a four-song EP about relationships that linger long after they end.

Written in 2012, in the months after Jordan Hunt’s partner died, James turns a complicated friendship shaped by grief, loyalty and secrecy into something bright, driving and euphoric. Beginning with bass synth and voice, it opens out through organ, percussion and a Brazilian-inflected rhythm - summer music with a haunted emotional core, finally released fourteen years after it was written.
